In a letter to FSM Speaker, Jack Fritz, President Bailey Olter urged the Congress to approve the agreement to declare the FSM a party to this treaty as per the South Pacific Forum Fisheries Agency Convention, 1979, agreement under Article 5 of that Convention. Article 5 noted that the Forum Fisheries Committee shall promote intra-regional coordination and cooperation in fisheries surveillance and law enforcement...in order to enhance their ability to enforce effectively their fisheries laws.. |
