Close up of an active volcanoe. This video features exceptionally close and spectacular footage of Kilauea volcanoe in full eruption. Thousand foot high lava fountains send rivers of molten rock flowing down the mountain through forests and subdivisions overrunning everything in their paths. Kupaianaha, a churning caldron of lava, feeds flow fields that have devastated 6 mile wide expanse of rural coastline. This video also covers the destruction of Kalapana in 1990-91 and the efforts of the National Pak Service to save the Wahaula Visitor Center in 1989. |
