Billie Banks, who has recently graduated from MIT, has experienced a difficult family life since the death of her mother when she was seventeen. Her relationship with her younger sister, Mickie, has been strained by their differing personalities and the effects of their father's alcoholism. When Mickie invites Billie to live with her in Los Angeles, Billie relocates and begins working at a pathology lab while developing a relationship with a reporter. As the sisters navigate their new circumstances, past tensions and conflicts resurface, challenging their relationship. |
