In a small village in the deep mountains of northeast China, Xi Feng and Shuang Yu are neighbors and both love red scarves. Xi Feng is a widow, sincere and kind but bold and vigorous. She falls secretly in love with her neighbor Yang Tianlong but is unhappy that he hunts illegally. The unmarried Shuang Yu lives with her father and they depend on each other for survival. Yan Tianlong, while hunting illegally, accidentally injures Shuang Yu. He confesses his crime and is put in prison for two years, during which time Xi Feng secretly cares for his twin daughters. After getting out of prison, Yang Tianlong finds Shuang Yu and her father have still not forgiven him. With Er Gouzi from a neighboring village, these neighbors find themselves are in never-ending conflicts again. In the midst of these funny mishaps, these four people finally find their desired destinations. |
