Lin Fengmian (1900-1991), a master painter and outstanding educator of art, was the founder of the China Academy of Fine Arts. He was worthy of the title of the master in the history of Chinese modern painting. As an art lover from childhood, Lin went to France when he was 19 years old, part working and part studying. He first learned western painting at the Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Art de Dijon and went to the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Bueaux-arts de Paris for advanced studies. Complicated life andd studying experiences nurtured him to be a world renowned painter.
