Hawai'iloa's is a Polynesian voyaging canoe made from spruce trees donated by Tingit and other native peoples. This film documents it's voyage from Seattle to Juneau through the Northwest Inside Passage and the interactions between the Polynesian crew and indigenous peoples along its route. The journey is portrayed as a metaphor for cultural survival and the revival of traditions once thought to be lost.
