For the first time in Fiji, using sound national survey data from the Fiji Islands Bureau of Statistics, this study by Dr. Wadan Narsey throws much light on these questions. There is presented comprehensive incomes data on gender disparitieis for all Fiji by a whole host of variables: gender, rural/urban, ethnicity, division, industry, occupation, qualifications, age groups. Not only are there statistics on average incomes earned, but also average income earned per standard period", which takes into account that people work different length of time for income they earn. Some resluts are expeced, some are startling. |
