NOTES: |
This film presents Spain's take over the Caroline Islands and joining them with her already held Marianas Islands to form a Spanish lake in the Pacific. Next it depicts the conflict between America and Spain wherein Spain upon losing the war hastily sold (in 1899) her Caroline and Mariana Island (except Guam) possessions to Germany (also depicted is the fact that at the same time America took Guam and the Philippines). Germany then joined her newly purchased Caroline and Marianas Island holdings with her previously held Marshall Islands Colonial possessions. In 1914, war broke out in Europe, a war in which Great Britain and other allies opposed Germany. Japan sided with Great Britain and the allies against Germany and in doing so, with British support seized Yap and all German held possessions in the Caroline, Marshall, and Northern Mariana Islands. |
