"The family tree project began to take form in the early 70's, in Saipan. At that time the author's mother, Srue (Hermina) Weilbacher, who lived in Pohnpei (Ponape) most of her life, was asked to join the author and his family in Saipan. Seeing how good "Nono Srue" was at names, birth dates and praticulars of her own children and those of Fritz's relatives, and realizing how aged she had become, the author decided to obtain what he could from "Nono Srue" before it was too late. Thus, most of the information about the Rohi, Ngatik and Kosrae relatives came from her. Those of the Sapwerehrek "connection" were obtained from Fritz's notes. A good many other contributors assisted the author but due to space limitation, only a few will be mentioned in this project." |
