A survey of Chuukese high school graduates took place in 1978--for the first time documenting the education explosion taking place in Chuuk, the most populated state in the FSM. A follow-up survey showed 660 Chuukese in college, "more than ten times as had been away in college eight years earlier". Further studies also show a decreasing number of returning graduates and a percentage immigrating to other places (many outside of the FSM) for various reasons. |
