TITLE: Island of the color blind [videorecording]

NOTES: This video is about Knut Nordby, a guy who sees no color because his eyes are completely lack of cones, a special cell which requires color vision who visited Pingelap along with a researcher to study how this eye disease came to exist in Pingelap and patients in Pingelap. Knut Nordby sees well in the dark but gets blinded by bright lights. He sometime guesses colors of things he uses and tells colors by what he learned. During his visit, his team left behind dark sun glasses with the color blinded people to aide their eyes during day time. It is a Pingelapese legend that this type of disease started out from a Pingelapese lady who fell in love with the Pingelapese King's son but couldn't marry him because the King wont allow it. She then later got married to a white man spreading the eye disease.
