A demonstration of African clothing explains how African clothes are made. The colorful demonstration shows the creativity and tradition behind their clothes, their place of origin, and the symbolic meanings of certain articles of clothing. Careful explanation is given to the differences in the cloth, colors and style used in the clothes. The way in which African infants are carried on their mother's backs is illustrated. Student volunteers are dressed in African clothing and a chief is chosen. The chief leads his procession of models on stage to the lively rhythms of African music. |
