Running through most of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hongshui River is claimed to have the greatest drop in elevation among all the rivers in China. It conceals many secrets of lives and is full of legends, savagery and folklore. Though the specific location of the river's origin has been determined through scientific means, Xu Xiake (1586-1641), famous geographer of ancient China, narrowly passed through here twice, leaing us untold mysteries and regrets. This mysterious river is doomed to display the abundance of human civilization. |
