1 videocassette (60 mins.) : sd., col. ; 1/2 in.
Produced by The Center for Instructional Development and the Office of Undergraduate Studies at Syracuse University.
This video begins with a series of "student on the quad" interviews in which students give spontaneous answers to questions about their academic advising experiences. The interviews are followed by six advising scenes in which faculty and students use prepared outlines to demonstrate a wide variety of approaches to advising. The final portion is a spontaneous critique of the advising scenes and a discussion of advising issues by a group of five faculty members and administrators, all of whom have extensive advising experience. The interviews and advising scenes provide experiential material while the critque and discussion add a didactic element.
