From Ireland to India, violence is fueled by religion, nationalism, and racism. War used to require an eyeball confrontation. "Now, the human animal can fight wars from windowless rooms with upholstered chairs beneath the ground," says Donahue. "The result is no longer us against them, but the human race against itself." |
