NOTES: |
Starting with the roots of Indian music, with wind and percussion instruments, and proceeding through the development of the string instruments, we explore the foundations of Latin music. We move from the India beginning through more modern music with the influence of both the Spanish and Portuguese traditions. The music combines with dramatic Latin dance rhythms to create a truly unique musical form. In discovering music, we explore the fundamentals of basic musical categories with emphasis on both the technique and instruments as well as the music itself. |
