Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, had the theory that music and ritual enjoy equally important position, and playing musical instruments is an important way to develop virtues. According to historical records, there were already about 70 kinds of musical instruments in Zhou Dynasty 3000 years ago. Some of them have been handed down and become vivid symbols of the mentality of the Chinese nation, while some have been lost in history and become the mysterious sounds in the memory and imagination of later generations. The ancient Chinese musical instruments, through their strong or subtle expressions, artistically record the track of the spirit and fashion of the Chinese society and inspire the emotions of generations of Chinese people. |
