NOTES: |
During the summer of 1988, devastating fires swept through yellowstone national park. Reports implied that the park would never be the same. In this surprising investigation, the new explorers team discovers that fire is as much as part of the forest's ecology as rain. Walking through the park just a few years after the fire, yellowstone's chief of research shows Bill Kurtis where growth has begun, a sign that the forest is in its way to recovery. On this special hike we begin to understand the role that fire plays in America's prairies and forests. Supplemental materials included. |
